These revived tours are in memory of more golden days when Links386/LinksCD and LinksPro were the way of the computer golfers.
Perhaps they have been superseded by other games. However, Links386 was there for the birth of the WWW and was wildly popular across the planet.
As LinksLS got under way the last of the tours running were Links386 Regular (first run by Tim Tschirner [now of EA sports]) and the Dolinks Tour. Both the Regular and Dolinks were run by Alan Hunter and myself from 1996-2002. Today, there is just a small remnant of the old players still enjoying LinksPro (played through DosBox on WinXp/Win2000/Vista/and Linux machines)
